The people at Four Seasons Lodge have born
witness to the worst of humanity, and then have demonstrated the best.
The film project speaks to the unresolved horror, the strength to persevere,
and the spark and power of friendship. We have a special and unique opportunity
to uncover one of the least-recognized positive legacies of the 20th century.
Moreover, the bungalow colonies of the Catskills, a special escape for
urban dwellers - particularly the Jewish immigrants of New York - have
seldom been captured in any feature film or documentary. We're closing in on completing our funding and the filmmaking piece of the project. Please help us
complete this project by making it possible.
We have a terrific team - Andrew Jacobs - a reporter at the New York
Times, Albert Maysles - a living legend, Justin Schein (cinematographer
for A&E, BBC, HBO, PBS), and many others... Though production costs have come down substantially in recent years, taking
quality, professional work through to broadcast or theatrical release still
requires considerable funding, particularly in the editing phase. Every donation helps us chip away at that last chunk of effort. What's needed is the participation
and support of individuals, like you, to make a financial donation.
In return for your contribution you will be kept in the loop regarding
the progress of the film, and invited to special work-in-progress rough-cut
screenings, and the eventual premiere and release parties. In addition,
all contributions will be acknowledged in the credits of the film as:
